Preserves Section
Handicraft Section Entry Form

  • All exhibits to have been made by the Exhibitor
  • Doyleys will be provided on which to stage exhibits
  • The judge will be looking for...
    • True flavour and consistency
    • Jars made of clear glass with no visible commercial / trade marks
    • Jars should be clean and unblemished
    • Jar and cover should be suitable for the preservation of the contents
    • Labels should state variety, day, month and year of making
    • The seal is very important and can be achieved with…
      • a twist top only
      • a wax disc on the contents and the jar top covered with cellophane when contents have cooled
      • Lemon Curd should always be covered with a ‘breathing top’ e.g. a wax disc and a cellophane top
