POULTRY SECTION

The 2011 Bingley Show was a good show for the poultry section.
We had an excelent turnout of poultry and waterfoul entries this year, however more surprising was this year's egg entries. We exceeded entries of past years with over 240 plates of eggs, showing a 100% rise on the previous year. We also welcomed many newcomers to this year's show giving us a 35% rise in poultry entries; it seems we have to agree with the national press, keeping poultry is becoming fashionable once again.
We were glad to welcome back Mr. Adler, who kindly helped with judging this year. Mr Alder is a past Poultry Section Secretary who ran the section for many years with great success.
It seems Saturday was of great benefit to us, because entries were up and came from all over, some from as far away as Blackpool, we hope this continues.
